His Excellency the Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf met with Her Excellency the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde, who is currently visiting the Kingdom to participate in the Joint committee  meeting of finance ministers and governors of monetary institutions and central banks of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), with the participation of His Excellency the Governor of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency, Dr. Ahmed Alkholifey, on Wednesday, 25/01/1438 AH 

During the meeting, they reviewed the economic conditions, the prospects for growth in the major economies, fluctuations in exchange rates and financial markets. Nonetheless, aspects of cooperation between the Kingdom and the IMF and  the possibilities of employment of Saudi nationals have been discussed. They , also reviewed the economic developments in countries of the region and the role of the IMF in helping some of them.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister for International Financial Affairs, Dr. Sulaiman. Al-Turki and General Director  of Macro-Fiscal Policy Unit, Dr. Saad Al-Shahrani and Executive Director of the Saudi Mission to the International Monetary Fund, Dr. Hisham Al-Aqeel.
