Pre-Budget Statement

Following the directions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to develop the Two Holy Mosques and serve their visitors and ensure their comfort; the Ministry of Finance, in coordination with the General Presidency of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque and the relevant authorities, has resumed the Zamzam well renovation project on Friday 27th October 2017, taking into consideration the crowd movement in Tawaf to allow more worshippers of pilgrims, umrah performers and visitors to perform their rituals comfortably.

​King Salman International Convention Center is in Al Faisaliah district in the north-west of Madinah. It is located about six kilometers away from the Prophet's Mosque and twelve kilometers from Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport. The center is close to King Fahad Glorious Quran Printing Complex, Taibah University, and Islamic University. It was built in accordance with the latest specifications and engineering standards to host the most important and largest conferences in Medina and the region.

​In accordance with Royal Decree No. (3497) dated 24th April 2017, regarding the paving of the western squares till the completion of the eastern section, as part of the first phase of the third Saudi expansion project of the Prophet's Mosque; a plan has been prepared for paving the western squares within the limits of (95,000 m2) to absorb about (80,000 - 100,000 worshippers). The paving of the western squares aims at making good use of the available spaces near the Mosque to allow visitors and worshipers to perform their worship in ease and comfort, as well as mitigate the overcrowding during the seasons (Ramadan and Eid) by using these spaces as prayer places. The consultant has been instructed to prepare project designs and competition documents to be submitted to qualified contractors.
