​The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz , on (25) of the holy month of Ramadan of the year 1436 in the evening,  launches a number of main projects within the inclusive project for the expansion of Saudi Arabia to the campus of the holy mosque  in Makkah, which its implantation  is supervised by the Ministry of Finance

The Saudi third grand expansion of the holy mosque includes 12 major components as the  following:

- The holy mosque’s main expansion building.

- The expansion of  circumambulation path which was launched previously.

- The expansion of Mataf (circumambulation).

- The external parks .

- Terraces.

- Complex of central services building.

- Security buildings.

- The hospital.

- Pedestrian-use tunnels

- Transportation stations and bridges leading to the mosque

- First ring road surrounding the holy mosque area.

- The infrastructure which includes power stations, water reservoirs and flood drainage system

The custodian of the two holly mosques launches five  main projects as the followings:

- The holy mosque’s main expansion building.

- The external parks and bridges.

- Pedestrian-use tunnels.

- Complex of central services building

- First ring road surrounding the holy mosque area .

In the next year - God willing - the rest of the project's buildings  will be inaugurated. These buildings are the expansion of Mataf  buildings (circumambulation) with its appliances and affiliates, the terraces, the security buildings, the hospital, a total facility that will bring the capacity of the grand mosque to 1,850,000 worshippers.
