On Wednesday, 19 Ramadan 1438H (corresponding to 14 June 2017), the Ministry of Finance hosted a pre –dawn meal ceremony  for a number of professional media men held at the Riyadh Intercontinental Hotel.

This ceremony aims at enhancing communication channels between the Ministry and the media, as well as introducing the latest developments of the Ministry's activities and work during the past period. And to emphasize that the mass media are effective partners of the Ministry in its successes and achievements.

The ceremony began with a discussion of the Ministry's strategic trends and its new identity. Mr. Yarob bin Abdullah Al-Thenayan, Undersecretary of Communication and Information, expressed his thanks and appreciation to all attendees for accepting the invitation, pointing out  that the Ministry's strategy of its new identity chronicles a qualitative shift in the Ministry's work, Its trends and its performance in the light of the vision of the Kingdom 2030.He goes on to say  that the Ministry of Finance plays an important and effective role in realizing this vision as the sponsor and the one who follows up the Kingdom's financial affairs. As such the Ministry has prepared its new strategy to enable the Kingdom to be among the 15 largest economies in the world by the year 2030.

Mr. Al-Thunayan spoke about the new identity of the Ministry, explaining that it reflects the Ministry's personality and expresses its cultural values. He points out the Ministry transformation in light of the strategic transformation that the Kingdom is undergoing. He goes on to say that the identity standard reflects the nature of  the Ministry's vision and its credibility and professionalism.

Then, Mr. Yasser Al-Qahaidan, Undersecretary of Budget and Organization Affairs, points out to the new mechanism for budget procedures, noting that it is being carried out according to new standards related to specific ceilings of government budgets. Which led to the prioritization of spending by each side. He also pointed out to the workshops organized by the Ministry for government bodies for introducing the new mechanism for preparing the budget, as well as discussing the preparation of the budget for next year. Mr. Ahmed Al-Suwaiyan, Undersecretary of  Technology and Development Affairs, addressed a number of innovative technology solutions applied by the Ministry to provide best services for both employees and beneficiaries, such as the public and private sectors or the general public. Mr. Thamer Al-Jarad of the 

 Macro-Fiscal Policy Unit spoke about the issuance of the Quarterly Report about the performance of the state budget for the first quarter of the fiscal year 1438/1439 AH (2017). Which was issued for the first time in the history of the Ministry, within the framework of the Kingdom's commitment for transparency and financial disclosure. Mr. Abdullah Al-Askar, Director of the Office of Achieving the Vision, also discussed the role of the Office in achieving the Kingdom's vision 2030.

The meeting concluded with an open discussion. Then the audience took a group photo followed by having their pre-dawn meal ( Suhoor) at the Ministry of Finance.
