 During the G20 Leaders' Summit, the Kingdom's Delegation meets the Director-General of the World Health Organization

His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf, Minister of State and Member of the Council of Ministers met with Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), with the participation of His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Al-Jadaan, Minister of Finance and His Excellency Dr. Yousuf Al-Saadoun, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Specialized Affairs on the sideline of the Group of Twenty meetings held in Hamburg, Germany, on Friday and Saturday 7 and 8 July 2017.
During the meeting, the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) valued the strategic partnership between the Kingdom and the World Health Organization, stressing the importance of strengthening this partnership to enhance the Organization's efforts in combating diseases and epidemics in the world. He also extends his thanks for the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, for his support of $ 66.7 million, for the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children's Fund, to combat the cholera epidemic in Yemen, indicating that this support helps directly to halt and control the spread of this epidemic. He lauded the effective role played by the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid in providing relief support in general.
For his part, His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf praised the efforts exerted by the World Health Organization (WHO) in combating diseases and epidemics, particularly in developing countries, including its efforts in fighting against cholera and malaria. His Excellency stressed the Kingdom's interest in strengthening health capacities through programs funded by the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid and health sector projects funded by the Saudi Fund for Development.
