His Excellency the Minister of Finance, Mr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan discussed during his participation, on Thursday, 05/05/1438 AH, in the first Seminar of the cultural program of the National Festival for Heritage and Culture (Janadriya 31) under the title " Kingdom's Vision 2030 .. Shining Future ", which was held at King Faisal Hall, Intercontinental Hotel in Riyadh, with the participation of His Excellency the Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Mr. Khalid bin Abdul Aziz Al-Faleh, His Excellency Mr. Mohammad bin Mazyed Al Tuwaijri Vice Minister of Economy and Planning, and Board Member of the Eastern Region Fadl bin Saad Al-Buainain. The debate was run by Mr. Hussein Shobokshi media and economic writer, 'The Kingdom's ability to fund the goals of vision 2030 without resorting to fees or government bonds'.
His Excellency said: "to achieve any economic progress or planning with targets, we must have two great basic powers, the first is the manpower which is capable of achieving targets so human resource development programs are implemented. The second power is the financial strength, it is very important that the Kingdom have a financial ability to finance these plans to achieve these targets. "
He added: Allah blessed Saudi Arabia for many years with economic prosperity and enormous economic resources. These resources have been used over the past decades for the development in various fields such as raising the level of education and reduce the level of illiteracy; raising the level of health services and the level of transport services and roads. Now we are harvesting the fruits of fiscal policies that have been followed in the past ten years ago where we used the high oil prices and revenues for economic development. Nonetheless, these revenues have been used to reduce also the level of public debt, giving the economy and the government more room to use the debt as one of financing means.
His Excellency goes on to say that we have depth studies in general, including the financial stability and we are aiming to reach, in 2020, a balance level in the budget so that the deficit will end by using part of the oil resources and various other incomes, as such we are aiming to raise the efficiency of expenditure in order to achieve this balance .
His Excellency the Minister of Finance denied, in a reply to a question by, Dr. Marzouq bin Tenbak, what has been rumored that he said ' in regard of the proportion of the rich'. At the end ,His Excellency asks all Saudis to register in the Citizen's Account.
