HE, the Assistant Minister of Finance for Macro-Fiscal Policies and International Relations, Mr. Abdulaziz Alrasheed, and HE the Deputy Governor of the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) for Research and International Affairs, Dr. Fahad Aldossari, participated virtually in the 3rd G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting under the Italian G20 Presidency. The meeting, which was held on 1-2 July, brought together deputies from Finance Ministries and Central Banks from G20 Member Countries, as well as invited countries and international organizations.
The meeting fostered discussions on global economic prospects, and joint action was coordinated towards achieving robust, sustainable and inclusive growth.
This meeting comes in preparation for the upcoming 3rd G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting, set to be held in Venice from 9-10 July 2021 under the Italian G20 presidency. The meeting will be attended by HE Mr. Mohammed Al-Jadaan, the Minister of Finance and HE Dr. Fahad Al-Mubarak, Governor of the Saudi Central Bank.
It is worth mentioning that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a member of G20 Troika Committee, a three-member committee chaired by the current president of G20, the Kingdom (the former president), and Indonesia (the next president for 2022). Troika Committee aims to ensure that the G20 presidencies work collectively to achieve consistency and continuity of G20's agenda. The Kingdom remains committed to support the G20's efforts to achieve strong, balanced, sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
