Today, November 8, 2023, the Saudi Deputy Minister of Finance for International Relations, Dr. Riyad Alkharief, participated in the 14th Turkish-Arab Economic Forum, in Istanbul, Türkiye.
Dr. Alkharief was among the main speakers in one of the forum's sessions entitled “Regional Collaboration: Towards Building a Resilient and Diversified Future." In his interventions he pointed out the strong financial position of the Saudi economy, the transformative structural reforms under Vision 2030, and its achievements in various sectors. He also highlighted the policies and initiatives that were adopted by the Kingdom to attract foreign investment and generate non-oil growth, and to build private sector vitality in emerging sectors that will shape the future of the Saudi economy.
To this end, Dr. Alkharief urged investors to seize the promising opportunities in these emerging sectors. In addition, he noted the recently signed MoU between the Saudi Ministry of Finance and the Turkish Treasury and Finance Ministry, on the margins of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) forum in Riyadh. The MoU envisages strengthened financial relations and economic cooperation between the two friendly countries.
On the sidelines of the Turkish-Arab Economic Forum, Dr. Alkharief also met with the Turkish Deputy Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mr. Osman Çelik, and they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two friendly countries in finance and economics, and stressed the importance of collaboration to face global economic challenges.
