The Saudi Sherpa Office at the Ministry of Finance held today, August 27, 2024, the second G20 workshop to coordinate with Saudi government entities participating in the 2024 G20 under the Brazilian presidency. The workshop was chaired by His Excellency the Saudi Vice Minister of Finance, Saudi Sherpa, Mr. Abdulmuhsen Alkhalaf, and attended by the Kingdom's representatives in the G20 working and engagement groups.
The workshop provided an overview of the 2024 G20 agenda under the Brazilian presidency, including the group's priorities such as opportunities to enhance cooperation, find effective solutions, and address important issues through inclusive dialogue.
The workshop is a continuation of coordination and cooperation efforts among government entities representing the Kingdom in the G20, identifying important issues in the various working and engagement groups, discussing the developments of the Brazilian presidency, and highlighting and unifying the Kingdom's efforts.
The Republic of Brazil is hosting the G20 Summit for the first time under the slogan “Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet". The priorities of the Brazilian presidency focus on three main areas: fighting hunger, poverty, and inequality; sustainable development; and global governance reform.
