His Excellency the Saudi Minister of Finance, Mr. Mohammed Aljadaan, participated in the second session of the second G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting under the Brazilian presidency, which was held on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group (WBG) 2024 Spring Meetings held in Washington, D.C., United States on Thursday, April 18, 2024.

 During the session, Minister Aljadaan emphasized that Saudi Arabia supports the Brazilian Presidency's efforts to continue the ongoing dialogue among G20 members focusing on amplifying the role of Multilateral Development Banks in development finance.

 Minister Aljadaan also highlighted the importance of determining the strategy and pace of scaling-up MDBs' lending operations by the individual boards of each MDB, taking into account their distinct mandates and capabilities. He noted that the G20 plays an important role in providing political support for MDBs, which contributes to improving coordination and cooperation, while maximizing the development impact.

On the sidelines of the second day of the Spring Meetings, Minister Aljadaan met with a number of ministers, central bank governors, and officials from international commercial banks, and discussed with them ways to enhance economic cooperation and bilateral relations.
