The Saudi Assistant Deputy Minister of Finance for Policy and Governance and Head of the Accrual Accounting Center, Mr. Abdullah Al Mehthil, participated in the "Qatar Sustainable Development and Economic Diversification Conference," held October 2, 2024, in the Qatari capital, Doha. The event was organized by the Qatar Certified Public Accountants Association, in strategic partnership with the International Federation of Accountants and the British Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

In a panel discussion entitled “Exploring Emerging Horizons: Future Trends in the Accounting Profession and Professionalism in Public Finance," held with the participation of IFAC President Asmaa Resmouki, Assistant Deputy Minister Al Mehthil showcased the Kingdom's experience in shifting its accounting system from a cash basis to an accrual basis. The experience has been widely welcomed in terms of the implementation plan, the methodology followed in the transformation, and the achievements that have made it a focus of attention for other countries​.
