 Deputy Minister of Finance for International Relations Heads Saudi Arabia's Delegation to Arab League 114th Meeting of Economic & Social Council

The Saudi Deputy Minister of Finance for International Relations, Mr. Khalid Bawazier, headed the Kingdom's delegation participating in the Arab League's 114th Economic and Social Council meeting at the ministerial level. The event is being held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, where they discussed a number of economic and social issues for joint Arab action

 The meeting reviewed a number of important topics that are a priority for enhancing the Arab economic development process and supporting efforts to implement sustainable development plans. The Council stressed the importance of strengthening joint Arab economic and social work in light of recent rapid and successive changes in the global economy, as well as the importance of moving forward in implementing the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan.

 Delivering the Kingdom's speech, Mr. Bawazier highlighted Saudi Arabia's crucial economic and developmental role in the Arab world. He noted Saudi Arabia's support for numerous projects, and its cooperation in areas such as energy and infrastructure, which fosters regional prosperity, enhances trade, creates job opportunities, and contributes to the integrated growth of Arab economies. He also highlighted that Saudi Arabia continues to achieve significant milestones at the national, regional, and international levels; further reinforcing the region's role.​

The Economic and Social Council is one of the main bodies of the League of Arab States, holding two sessions a year, and includes the ministers of the Arab member states specialized in economic and financial affairs. Its role is to achieve cooperation between the member states to advance their economies, invest in their natural facilities, and facilitate inter-trade exchange. The Council also holds preparatory meetings for Arab summits in the economic and social fields.
