 Saudi Sherpa Office Holds 2nd Workshop as Part of Kingdom’s Preparations at the G20 Meetings in 2025

The Saudi G20 Sherpa Office at the Ministry of Finance organized, on Sunday, October 5, 2025, a G20 workshop titled "The Kingdom's Participation in the G20 during the South African Presidency 2025," chaired by His Excellency the Vice Minister of Finance and Saudi G20 Sherpa, Mr. Abdulmuhsen Alkhalaf, in the presence of the heads and members of the Kingdom's delegations participating in the G20 meetings this year and the Saudi Human Rights Commission.

During the workshop, Vice Minister Alkhalaf expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom's representatives in the G20 working groups for their outstanding efforts during the South African G20 presidency, stressing the need to capitalize on the pivotal role of the G20 as an international platform to strengthen partnerships and expand the horizons of cooperation in various fields, enable the Kingdom to continue its effective participation in the formulation of global economic policies.

The second workshop, following the first one held last February, comes as an extension of the continuous efforts to enhance coordination and integration of roles among the 24 public entities participating in the 2025 G20, representing the Kingdom on the G20 platform and reflecting the priorities of the Saudi Vision 2030.

The workshop aimed to enhance coordination and cooperation between government agencies representing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the work of the G20 under the presidency of South Africa for the year 2025; discuss the developments of the G20, including the issues raised in the working groups within the Sherpa and Finance tracks, and discuss opportunities to enhance cooperation between member states to find effective solutions and address important issues through comprehensive dialogue ahead of the G20 Leaders' Summit scheduled on November 22-23, 2025, in Johannesburg.​
