HE, the Assistant Minister of Finance for Macro-Fiscal Policies and International Relations, the Saudi Sherpa for G20, Mr. Abdulaziz Alrasheed, participated in the third Sherpa meeting under the Italian G20 presidency. The meeting was held on September 15th and 16th, 2021, in Florence. The meeting was attended by G20 Sherpas, invited countries and international and regional organizations.

The meeting aimed at advancing the discussion on the first draft of the Declaration at Rome G20 Leaders Summit set to be held on October 30th and 31st, 2021, while highlighting all topics discussed so far under the G20 Italian presidency, to negotiate areas of consensus between member states.

The meeting discussed topics related to priorities of the Italian presidency, which are based on three main pillars: People, Planet and Prosperity. The meeting also discussed various topics, most notably, the financial and economic sector, health, education, business, agriculture, development, energy, climate, environment, trade and investment, digital economy, anti-corruption, culture and tourism.

The Kingdom has played a major role in supporting the efforts made within the G20, through its membership of G20 Troika Leadership, a three-member organization headed by Italy (the current president of G20), the Kingdom (the former president), and Indonesia (the next president for 2022). Troika Organization aims to ensure that the G20 presidencies work together to achieve consistency and continuity of G20's agenda. The Kingdom is keen to support G20 efforts to reach its general objectives of achieving strong, balanced, sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
