10/31/2024

His Excellency the Saudi Minister of Finance, Mr. Mohammed Aljadaan, concluded his participation at the 8th Edition of the Future Investment Initiative forum, which took place in Riyadh October 29 – 31, 2024 under the theme "Infinite Horizons".

On the sidelines of the Forum, Minister Aljadaan inaugurated the New Africa Summit, which aimed to explore investment opportunities in Africa, as well as to stimulate investors and capital to build multiple alliances and partnerships that support the growth of African nations.

In his opening speech, Minister Aljadaan emphasized that the Kingdom's partnership with Africa is not only strong, but also growing rapidly, saying that the Saudi-African Summit held last year opened a new stage of partnership with Africa and will be a starting point for its growth and development. He noted that Saudi private sector investment is expected to reach USD 25 billion in Africa over the next 10 years, and said that the Kingdom works closely with regional and international financial institutions to support the African continent.

He noted that one of the most important challenges facing many African nations was debt sustainability, which requires serious and urgent international cooperation to help them address their sovereign debt. "We have come a long way in addressing debt through the Debt Service Suspension Initiative and the Common Framework launched during the Kingdom's Presidency of the G20, and which directly contributed to supporting a number of countries such as Chad, Ghana, Ethiopia and Zambia," Minister Aljadaan said.

Minister Aljadaan also participated in the session entitled, "How will finance manage risk in a fractured world?", and noted that Saudi Arabia is one of the brightest spots in the world for investors to achieve their investments goals. He emphasized that Investors come to Saudi Arabia not for Vision 2030 promises but for its deliverables.

Minister Aljadaan also highlighted that enhancing multilateral cooperation is necessary because global challenges cannot be resolved by one country alone, and emphasized that Saudi Arabia plays an important role in the stability of the economy in the region and globally.

On the sidelines of the Forum, Minister Aljadaan held a number of bilateral meetings with various government officials and senior executives from around the world, and discussed issues related to global finance and economics.
