His Excellency the Saudi Vice Minister of Finance, Mr. Abdulmuhsen Alkhalaf, participated in the high-level strategic dialogue between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 in Riyadh, in the presence of IMF directors, to discuss the Capacity Development partnership between the Saudi Ministry of Finance and the IMF, Including the activities of the IMF Regional Office in the Kingdom.
In his opening remarks, Vice Minister Alkhalaf emphasized that the Kingdom's partnership with the IMF is strategic and historic, as it has grown since the Kingdom joined the Fund. He pointed to the important role played by the IMF Regional Office in the Kingdom, including supporting capacity building in the region and conducting technical and economic papers that serve the countries of the region.
The main objective of this annual meeting is to provide an update on the achievements to date of the IMF Regional Office in the Kingdom, and its priorities in the coming period, with the aim of improving the benefits of the partnership through close cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the IMF.
